Providing Liquidity

Providing liquidity is a way to support the PlasmaSwap exchange while earning rewards. When you add liquidity, you supply an equal value of two tokens to a pool, which enables others to trade between those tokens quickly and at low cost.

How to Provide Liquidity

  1. Go to the Liquidity page on PlasmaSwap.

  2. Select the token pair you want to provide liquidity for, for example, XPL and USDT0.

  3. Enter the amount of each token you want to add. Note that you need to add equal value amounts of both tokens.

  4. Approve the transaction(s) in your connected wallet.

  5. Confirm the liquidity provision.

  6. After the transaction is processed, you will receive LP (Liquidity Provider) tokens representing your share in the pool.

What Happens Next?

  • Your LP tokens show your ownership of the liquidity you provided.

  • Every time traders swap tokens from that pool, a small trading fee is collected.

  • A portion of those fees is distributed to liquidity providers proportional to their share of the pool.

  • You can withdraw your liquidity at any time by redeeming your LP tokens, along with any earned fees.

Benefits of Providing Liquidity on PlasmaSwap

  • Earn trading fees on every swap made using your pool.

  • Receive airdrop points and bonuses as part of the PlasmaSwap community rewards.

  • Help grow the Plasma ecosystem by increasing liquidity and enabling efficient token swaps.

Tips for New Liquidity Providers

  • Start with small amounts to get comfortable with the process.

  • Consider choosing stablecoin pairs like XPL/USDT0 to reduce risks related to price volatility.

  • Regularly monitor your liquidity position and rewards via the platform.
